Here is how my conversation went with an 18 year old Canadian young lady who wanted to vent out frustration anonymously.
Works in a coffee shop, plans to do modelling, accumulate money and then go to Stanford for Law. Awesome good big dreams! Impressive but what got me really interested was the other teenage problems which we started talking about later.
Let me type out the actual sentences before I forget them 🙂
‘I wish my parents were super rich, I would be soo hot you know, I would marry an awesome super rich guy’ – ahmmm I thought you did not need to be rich to be hot
‘There was a phase when I was 15 when we had to make boyfriends and that fear about getting pregnant by those d** always used to be there but now that phase is over it is still better’ -huh and there was I was cramming up books at 15, darn!
‘One of my friends is so dumb she managed to get pregnant twice’ – Ouch, speechless
‘Wish my parents were rich enough that I could buy pot, you seem old enough and wealthy enough to buy some for yourself, do you smoke pot? You should it is fun’ – huh, if only I had time
‘My boyfriend Al** keeps spending time with Ele* I don’t know what to do I think he might be cheating on me’ – Hmmm if he does leave him why to worry
‘You are an Indian? Ohhh my goddd, you must be very beautiful all Indian gals are so pretty, you married? do you have a boyfriend? When are you planning to get married?’ – ahmm, where is the exit door!!
‘Do you know how expensive hair products are here, all my salary goes into that, I heard India has so many awesome oils and those fragrances, you must have really great hair. My friend Mary has such great hair, I sometimes get dreams that I cut her hair out of jealousy’ -hahaha
‘When I grow up and become veryyy rich, I am going to show mi**dle fin*er to all these people who keep showing off their Gucci bags’ ahem, could only smile
And the conversation went onnnn for quite sometime, very hilarious and refreshing, teenagers and their silly problems. I did my part of giving proper advice to the girl. The motive behind writing this blog is not to insult any teenager, I adore all of them but it amuses me what all superficial things does the generation next worry about and if you are one of them who is reading this right now, take a chill pill, there is more to life than that.
